The Birds and the Bees

I think I'm going to have to make a series called "The Birds and the Bees"
For some reason, my kids are fixated on baby making (or not baby making) right now.
We've had a couple of slightly awkward yet hilarious conversations. I think I need to find a book to determine age appropriate answers to these questions. I hate that G's isn't around for these conversations and I'm stuck trying to scramble for answers! I'm so not prepared!
So we were at lunch the other day all happily eating when this happens:
Thing 1 (6yrs old): So mom, how EXACTLY do you get a baby in your tummy
Thing 2 (4yrs old): Whoa mom, I want to know exactly how you don't get a baby in your tummy.
Me: Well, to get pregnant, when a mommy and daddy are married they decide to have a baby and they do magic together and make a baby. They pick out a special star from the sky and that's the baby that will grow in the mommy's tummy.

Thing 1: But what KIND of magic mom... like making fire come out of your hands, or pulling money from behind your ears, or making lava come out of your hands?? How EXACTLY does it work.

Me: (G thought I should have run with the white lava magic... but I wasn't quick enough at the time!) So I went with... It's a special mommy-daddy magic and you'll learn about it when you get older. Can we change the subject now??

Thing 2: NO, not until you tell me exactly how not to have a baby!
Me: Well, just don't do any magic and you should be fine. (I'm digging my hole deeper and deeper and I know it!)
Thing 1: So mom, how old are you when you get your lasso?
Me: Lasso? What do you mean?
Thing 1: You know, your lasso to get your star out of the sky? Do you have to be a teenager?
Me: Older than that... you get it when you're 25. That's all for now!
I'm sure there was more than that because it felt like a super long conversation...
but that is all I remember.

This is hilarious. Those kids are so clever. Is there a way to throw the lasso without catching a star that doesn't involve a barrier or hormones?
